FREE Summer Breakfast & Lunch for Kids

During the Summer months, NMCUSD Food Services deliver healthy and nutritious breakfast and lunch meals for kids in our community.

Activities at the REC

Our staff offers fun and interactive arts & crafts, games, game shows, and events to kids and youth in the community FREE of charge. No registration is necessary, simply show up and get involved. Call for dates.

Cooking Class

Come participate in our free cooking class. Learn new recipes or bring in your very own for the class to make. Kids and adults are welcomed to join.

Archery for Teens

Archery is a great sport to help develop focus, flexibility, attention, patience, along with math and important life skills. Participants will be instructed in safety, the history of archery, shooting techniques and scoring during this four-week course. Equipment and instruction provided by Jim Cox Adventures.

$15 transportation fee only applies if you need transportation to Jim Cox Adventures Range. Vehicle leaves NCRC at 10:30 am (ARCH1 ) and 3:30 pm (ARCH2&3).

Skate Club

Skate Club is free and open to experienced and new skateboarders alike. Forgot your board? Want to learn to ride? No worries, we got your back. Skateboards are available to borrow with parental consent. The club also hosts skate competitions with winners receiving prizes from Santa Cruz clothing co. Safety gear required.

Tennis

Tennis can teach many great life lessons while on the court, but more important than the fundamentals of tennis, USTA’s H.I.T.S. (Honesty, Inspiration, Teamwork, Sportsmanship) program focuses on growing a child’s core values, as well as the athlete. Call for dates at local schools.

Tuesday (3:00 PM – 6:00 PM) NC Rec. Center – Cooking Class, Skate Club and other activities.

Wednesday (1:30 PM – 5:30 PM) NC Rec. Center – Homework Center, crafts, and games. NC Sports

Thursday (2:30 PM – 6:00 PM) NC Rec. Center – Art class with CSUMB students, games in the gym.

Friday (3:00 PM – 5:30 PM) NC Rec. Center – Skate Club
