NCRPD offers several youth sports programs throughout the year that focus on character enrichment, as well as, skill development. Come join one or all of our great sports leagues. See you at practice! 

Youth Boxing

The North County Rec Center has teamed up with Boxing Strong to offer youth boxing to the North County community. Boxing is a great way to get your kids back in shape while learning life skills such as discipline and hard work. Youth boxing is also a great confidence builder and a whole lot of fun!

JUNIOR WARRIORS BASKETBALL

Whether you’re a beginner looking to learn the fundamentals or a seasoned player looking to compete against other County teams, Jr warriors offers a variety of levels for kids to enjoy the game of basketball.

T-ball League

NCRPD’s youth baseball leagues provides children 4 to 6 years old with an opportunity to learn the game of baseball in a fun environment. We focus on teaching fundamental baseball skills while encouraging good sportsmanship and teamwork. All games are played at North County Sports Complex (Japanese School Park).

Junior Giants

Junior Giants, the flag ship program of the San Francisco Giants Community Fund, is a FREE non-competitive motivational baseball program for boys & girls ages 5-18 years old. The program provides baseball caps, t-shirts, gloves, equipment, and even tickets to a (select) SF Giants or San Jose Giants baseball game*. With a focus on the four bases of character development: Confidence, Integrity, Leadership, & Teamwork, the Junior Giants is a popular program in our community. Full season participation & requirements necessary for tickets to a Giants game. Coaches needed!

Youth Football Camp

Salinas Vall Youth Futsaley Spartans, Mann Up Athletics and North County Rec are teaming up to get you to the top of your game. Our skills camp will be taught by experienced coaches and players who knows what it takes to reach the next level.

Session 1:

Youth Futsal

Try something different. Futsal is a fast paced, fun, exciting sport that has caught fire around the world. Developing skillful players with fantastic technique and touch, Futsal is known for producing talented young soccer players.

* Must register in person at the Rec (11261 Crane St., Castroville) / Teams will provide their own coaches / 3 divisions, u9, u11, & u13 / Must have 4 teams registered by 7/8 per division/ 6 teams max per division

USTA H.I.T.S TENNIS PROGRAM

H.I.T.S. is a low-cost tennis program that incorporates the fundamentals of a team sport with life skills enrichment. Kids will participate in fun activities while learning the fundamentals of tennis in a safe and supportive environment. Season: Fall at Prunedale Elementary School

Beach Days

Has your kid ever wanted to try surfing or body boarding? This is their chance! North County Rec has partnered with the Wahine Project to offer a beach recreation and conservation program for kids aged 5-18. No equipment or experience necessary, your child doesn’t even need to know how to swim! We take care of everything in a safe and controlled environment!

  • Ages 5-18
  • Location: Casa Verde Beach (Corner of Surf and Tide Way, Monterey)
  • Cost: $65
    • Scholarships available upon request

DAY CAMPS

Distance Learners Day Camp Distance Learners Day Camp

Need help with your kid’s Distance Learning until schools re-open? Our Day Camp has a dedicated staff to support them with schoolwork, homework, technical assistance, and having fun on a normal schedule. We also serve breakfast, lunch, and healthy snacks daily. Space is limited though so register today. *All County regulations for Day Camps are strictly adhered to.

  • Times: 8 am to 4:30 pm
  • Ages: kinder – 6th grade
  • Cost: $20 a day per child

Kalpulli Oceloyotl Aztec Dance

This dedicated historical heritage group is a source of cultural awareness, enrichment, and a positive form of expression. Their beauty and artistry is in reference to ancient Mexico and stands today for diversity and social justice and are important to their legacy in the community. Come enjoy traditional cultural costumes, as well as song and dance every week. Offered by Kalpulli Oceloyotl.

Skate Club Skate Club – To Be Determined

Skate Club is free and open to experienced and new skateboarders alike. Forgot your board? Want to learn to ride? No worries, we got your back. Skateboards are available to borrow with parental consent. The club also hosts skate competitions with winners receiving prizes from Santa Cruz clothing co. Safety gear required.
